The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it can be alarmed about the substantial quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the significant variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is due SRD to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area on a daily basis. The services stage developed for intervention encounters a higher inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tricky with the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more sources to permit the servicing of all shoppers and increase entry to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
